That would be rockin'. Alas, I don't know any French. I mean, I could be persuaded to learn French, but that doesn't really help at the moment. By the way, know anybody looking to sublet a decent place in DC for cheap? I'm actually first looking for a place to crash for a bit until I can make enough money to rent a place, but eventually I'll need to rent a place.
So I had an idea for a thread and I thought I'd run it by you before I go posting it to the PCE without getting any feedback on it.
I feel as though some of us, myself included, spend far too much of our time nitpicking stupid and inane things that politicians do or say. A large part of the 2012 elections thread and BAR have been devoted to this, essentially derailing potentially substantive discussion. The problem though is that these missteps and wacky notions could be considered important, while in others their just stupid mistakes and ramblings.
Thinking this through, it would seem like an easy thing to do is stop posting them all together, but then you get into the subjectivity of it all and members start to bitch and complain. Causing more problems for you than you already have.
My though was to create a thread solely for the purpose to posting those kind of stories. Put them all in one place and let people circle jerk about it and maybe get some more substantive discussions in the other threads as a result. Instead of devoting a page of discussion to Michele Bachmann's flub over Elvis's birthday/death, as an example.
Just a thought, interested in what you think and if so any good titles.
