Internship!
So, Monday afternoon I had an interview with the head of our Internship department, and on the reccomendation of Dr. Solt, Dean of the College of Business, I was offered a summer Internship working in Business Development with Molina Healthcare Group! I think that this is an amazing opportunity. Healthcare is a field that is not only stable and increasing, but highly lucrative. (yes, I am THAT guy) I have been looking into the business and administration side of healthcare for some time now - as the beaurocracy and hiearchy involved are similar to what I have done in the military, and given my service, I have no problems telling some Pre-Madona Doctor to fuck off because his research pet pro...

Internship!
So, Monday afternoon I had an interview with the head of our Internship department, and on the reccomendation of Dr. Solt, Dean of the College of Business, I was offered a summer Internship working in Business Development with Molina Healthcare Group! I think that this is an amazing opportunity. Healthcare is a field that is not only stable and increasing, but highly lucrative. (yes, I am THAT guy) I have been looking into the business and administration side of healthcare for some time now - as the beaurocracy and hiearchy involved are similar to what I have done in the military, and given my service, I have no problems telling some Pre-Madona Doctor to fuck off because his research pet project doesn't fit into the budget. Oh yeah, and when I get my PhD, I am totally making all those MD's call me "Doctor Senkarik"

Anyway, it is a paid internship - I am not sure how much though, and Molina is a For Profit healthcare group (they specialize in providing services for low income and non-english speaking patients) and I will be helping them develop business models and managing projects. Should be quite a learning experience, and I hope that it will lead to a full time job opportunity. right now I am a writer - and though it is fun to write about cigars and whiskey, it doesn't pay, and it is not a career. This is my first step into a big boy job (besides being a major leauge Door Kicker) and a career that really has some legs behind it. Wish me luck!
