Another update
We are hanging in there. I may have won the prize for being the best sister in the world. My dad gave me kudos for keeping him informed, and I had to play the heavy at times with other family members. I've basically put my work on hold until my brother gets home from the hospital. I'm carting my sister-in-law around, running errands, and taking her back & forth to the hospital. She's getting tired of going every day, but I'm in it for the long haul. Hell, I've been in & out of hospitals enough times that it is 2nd nature for me. I'm also taking my daughter & her boyfriend to the hospital too. I've been to the visitor's center so often that ...

We are hanging in there. I may have won the prize for being the best sister in the world. My dad gave me kudos for keeping him informed, and I had to play the heavy at times with other family members. I've basically put my work on hold until my brother gets home from the hospital. I'm carting my sister-in-law around, running errands, and taking her back & forth to the hospital. She's getting tired of going every day, but I'm in it for the long haul. Hell, I've been in & out of hospitals enough times that it is 2nd nature for me. I'm also taking my daughter & her boyfriend to the hospital too. I've been to the visitor's center so often that they are recognizing me now.

I've also helped complain about poor practices that the hospital had, changed his nursing staff. But, I'm drawing the line at wiping his butt. I've made him laugh, sit up and pay attention,joked about his manhood, and held in depth discussions on the benefits of working on older cars...He's an auto mechanic.

In short, we're hanging in there. Through the good days & the not so good days. This event that my brother is going thru has strengthened our relationship about 10 fold. He is scheduled for surgery on Monday morning now. He got bumped from Saturday by a 3 yr old with a brain tumor. Yeah. Docs are suspicious that he may have stage 2 cancer, and that it's spread into his lymph nodes. Hopefully that's not the case. I gave him the cancer talk, but we're aren't going to cross that bridge until we absolutely have to.

On the brighter side of things: I'm going to be tied up all day tomorrow on a movie set! So excited! I'm the Production Assistant, in charge of taking pictures & the food. I might defer fetching the dinner to the other PA. Fun stuff. Oh & margaritas are def in order after we're done... I wonder if I can find the back roads to get home...
